Announcement Information and Etiquette
- Don’t know how many to order? Start with your holiday card list. Add teachers, coaches and friends of the senior. Don’t forget to order enough for you, grandparents, and your senior to keep for momentos.
- Name cards & announcement tissues are inserted in announcement. Name card samples are below.
- Prepare and mail announcements two to three weeks before the graduation ceremony...longer if travel plans need to be made.
- Insert a namecard in the designated slits or in the crease of each announcement.
- Insert any photos or a “Celebration Card” indicating where the festivities honoring your graduate will take place!
- Close the announcement and place in an inner envelope (ungummed flap).
- Address inner envelopes by hand, either informally with first names such as, “Tom and Mary” or formally with titles, such as, “Mr. and Mrs. Jones and family.”
- Insert the inner envelope, name side up, into the outer envelope (gummed flap).
- Seal the flap shut with a classy envelope seal.
- Handwrite formal name and address on outer envelope:
|
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jones
123 South Avenue
Anywhere, IL 55555 |
- Place a return address label in upper left hand corner.
- If you are enclosing additional cards or photos, be sure to have the envelope weighed to make sure you include the appropriate postage.
